Babies!

With my daughter, Brynn, born on July 15th, my life has changed. Yes, it has changed for the better, but I certainly see less MUni these days. I ride my MUni infrequently and my mountain bike even less. As you can see, I also edit fewer movies of MUni riding. My dad wants me to pull together a series of clips for a news station in MN that looks at alternative sports, so I might get another one posted to this NING soon. Every once and a while I get out riding in my neighborhood, but my wheel sees… Continue

Local Charlotte MUni Riders

Today, I met up with Jerry and three other riders for some fun out at Sherman Branch. Jerry's son, Mason, is a speed demon on his 20" Torker. Ginger has been riding since she was seven and has solid uni skills. John takes control on the single track - his son Braydon (sp?) will be proud! I was by far the most novice rider out there, but like mountain biking, that will only make me better. They all gave me some great pointer and inspired me to keep pushing. It was hot and humid, but we rode for o… Continue

Hitting the Trails

Last week, I went out and rode single track for my frist time up at a bike park called Poplar Tent (Beach Springs) near the town of Concord, NC. Previously, I thought that I needed to be able to hop and stall before doing so, but to my surprise, I was able to manage. It doesn't look pretty, but with the fat tire running low air pressure (Thanks Jerry), I found that I could roll over most roots and rocks. With the constant ups and downs, I have now realized that I also need to learn how to ride w… Continue

Stall or Reverse

I am now learning how to stall, hop, and/or pedal in reverse. In terms of progression, I should probably learn reverse first because when I try to stall with pedals parallel, I feel that I have to take my weight off the seat. Is that right? Suggestions?

Video head cams make me sick!

I cannot edit and create videos of myself longer than a few minutes because I get motion sick!

Dan and Jerry,

What about this upcoming weekend? These cool mornigng temps are perfect for unicycling! I wish for these days all summer. My morning bicycle commute is chilly right now, but I can always add more layers of clothing. It's much harder or less accepting to take them off in the summer.

I was out there this weeek riding the structures. It's still a challenge. With the rainey weather coming up, bicycling is a bust. I would like to get out there and do some more building and riding.
